Closure of the AXA Branch in Leipheim
A chapter comes to an end – but the service continues
After 36 successful years, we closed our branch in Leipheim on 30 September 2025. This decision marks the end of an important chapter in our company’s history – and at the same time the beginning of a new phase in which we will continue to optimise our structures to offer you the best possible service in the future.
The history of our southern branch began in the 1980s in Munich-Ottobrunn, before moving to the newly constructed building in Leipheim in 1988. Over the following decades, the location developed into a central sales and service hub for Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and neighbouring countries – particularly Austria and Switzerland. Machine demonstrations under real conditions, the organisation of factory customer service, and even the in-house production of tool systems and components characterised daily operations in Leipheim.
At a time when mobile communications and overnight logistics were still in their infancy, the site served as a logistical backbone for our customers in southern Germany – fast, reliable, and always close to where we were needed.
Over the years, however, conditions changed: staff availability in the region became increasingly challenging, while digitalisation opened up new opportunities to make our service more efficient and flexible. Today, we manage customer service centrally from our main factory in Schöppingen, as well as through our eastern branch near Chemnitz, our subsidiary in Pilsen (CZ), and our competent partners in southern Germany.
Production has also been increasingly concentrated at our headquarters since the early 2000s – as has sales, which is now managed centrally from Schöppingen.
The closure of the Leipheim branch is therefore a logical step in the course of our long-term structural development. Our goal remains unchanged: to provide you, our customers, with reliable, competent, and forward-looking support.
